Winner of the grant from the General Government of Algeria, Jouve is with Léon Cauvy, the first resident of Villa Abd el Tif.
He stayed there for eighteen months, discovered with Maxime Noiré, whose daughter he would marry, Bou Saada and the splendours of the south, and already dreamed of a trip to meet the Tuaregs. This wish will come true in 1931.
