Around 1924, the engineer JC Séailles and his wife Speranza Calo, developed a process allowing different materials to crystallize on the surface of a concrete slab. Together, they created the Anthony factory, and successfully exhibited their creations at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1925. They created sumptuous decorative panels and collaborated with many artists who provided compositions, the most famous being Dufy, Foujita, Gruber, and Jouve.
